Navy and black

Greetings. Today I'm wearing navy and black---together! (Gasp)

I first saw this color combo on a fashionable museum professional a year and a half ago. And this gave me pause.

See, fuddy-duddy fashion rules have long dictated that navy and black are nice colors, but ne'er the two shall meet in one outfit.

Well, tthhhbbbbtttt to that!

Here we have black tights (Hue, Nordstrom Rack), a navy birch cloth pencil skirt (J. Crew pop-back, super sale) and the floral fan-placket perfect shirt, which seems to have a mix of pale blue, black and some other color ($30 J. Crew pop-back).

And, once again, I wore (black, heeled) shoes stored in my office because snow boots are the only way to travel on the streets of Chicago now.
